I know where you’re going to brunch next after reading about my meal at Chalk Point Kitchen!
I’m pretty sure it’s impossible not to love this “market to table” restaurant with its emphasis on seasonal, sustainable and organic products. Chalk Point Kitchen sources their ingredients locally, all within the Tri-State area.
Pretty much every single thing I ate here I would willingly order again.
Let’s start with the Bloody Marty McFly and the Bloody Maria. I’m not a huge fan of the over-done drinks that turn from a drink to a meal, but these were definitely fun without being over the top!
(Notice the “CPK = Chalk Point Kitchen”)
I highly recommend ordering one or more of their toasts to start. I had their savory Avocado Toast and paired it with their sweet Strawberry & Mascarpone Toast....perfect compliments.
I just had to order the avocado toast simply because it had Calabrian chili which is from a southern town in Italy which my mother's family is from! On multigrain toast and topped with smoked sea salt, you can't go wrong with these:
The strawberry's were nicely marinated and perfectly sweet and sprinkled with some fresh rosemary:
Easily my favorite dish was their Baked Sourdough French Toast with the most deliciously poached cherries, mascarpone, honey, butter and a side of maple syrup:
What's brunch without a good eggs benedict?! Chalk Point has SIX different options for Eggs Benedict (ham, shrimp, avocado, smoked salmon, asparagus, and house-made tofu).
What I loved about their bennys is that they use ciabatta bread in place of the traditional English muffin. They also come with a nice light salad:
And then there was steak. The Grass-Fed Steak & Organic Eggs is a petite filet so a really tender cut of meat served with a horseradish sauce for a subtle kick, pickled onions, sunny side up eggs and crispy potatoes. You've branched well if you've eaten this:
I couldn’t not take a picture of this sign. The love is mutual Chalk Point Kitchen!
Bonus: when you’re done with brunch, you can go next door to Black Tap and get a ridiculous milkshake!
