When the farmers market gives you tomatoes…make caprese salad!
I chose a beautiful heirloom tomato along with a red and orange beefsteak tomatoes fresh from the farmers market at Union Square:
- -Tomatoes of choice
- -Fresh mozzarella cheese
- -Fresh basil
- -Extra Virgin olive oil
- -Kosher salt and fresh cracked black pepper
Slice tomatoes and arrange on a plate. If using different colors, arrange the colors in a symmetrical pattern for presentation.
Rip off small pieces of the mozzarella cheese and sprinkle over the tomatoes
Place a few basil leaves on top
Season with salt and pepper. Drizzle a little olive oil over the top.
