There are just so many of my favorite ingredients all tucked nicely inside the crispy, buttery bread in this grilled cheese!
For starters, the slightly sweet flavor of the ripe pears with the saltiness of the prosciutto and creaminess of the brie. And then you get a little heat and more sweetness from the hot pepper jelly. If you’ve never had hot pepper jelly before the best way to describe it is very subtly spicy but it still has the sweetness of a typical jelly. I absolutely love pairing it with brie cheese every chance I get (well, when I’m cheating from my non-dairy diet!)
Ingredients
- 4 slices white bread
- 1 ripe pear sliced
- brie cheese about 1/2 of a store bought slice
- prosciutto
- arugula
- hot pepper jelly
- spreadable butter (or butter at room temp)
Instructions
-
Assemble sandwich with a few slices of pear (about 4-6 per sandwich), about 3 slices of brie, 3-4 slices of prosciutto, some arugula, and spread about 1/2-1 tablespoon of hot pepper jelly per sandwich.
-
Close the sandwiches and butter the outsides.
-
Heat a non stick pan on medium-low heat. I like to grill each sandwich separately. Add sandwich to pan and cover with a lid to help melt the cheese. Cook for 1-3 minutes on each side or until nicely golden brown. If it starts to burn turn the heat down. Slice and enjoy!
