I’m really excited to share this new food & prep from All-Clad that has so many functions in one that it’s perfect for a New Yorker like myself who has limited kitchen space…well, space in general!. This innovative product, launching this month (yes, I got a cool early preview of it), can cut, mix, cook, emulsify, blend, knead, steam, and slow cook! So go ahead, throw away your food processor, blender, steamer, and slow cooker and replace it with this powerful beast.
So when I got it in the mail, I already knew I wanted to play around with the steam function. Coincidently, my parents had just visited me and brought me fresh eggs from their chickens so I put the two together and spent some time figuring out the perfect amount of time to get those insanely creamy yolk center. And now I’m sharing with you all!
It’s 2017…who has time to wait for a pot to boil? With All-Clad‘s Prep&Cook, you can create steam almost instantly and have perfectly soft-boiled eggs in just 8 minutes (or 7 minutes for fresh eggs).
Perfect Soft "Boiled" Eggs
Ingredients
- Eggs fresh or store bought
- Water
- Ice
- Optional: kosher salt & freshly cracked black pepper
Instructions

If you're using All-Clad's Prep&Cook, place 3 cups of water into the main then place the steamer bin inside and close the lid. Turn the machine on then select "steam" function and change the time to 8 minutes. Hit the start button and walk away!

If you're using a regular pot, fill with water and wait for it to boil. Place a steamer over top and steam eggs for approximately 7-8 minutes with a lid covering the pot.

When the eggs are finished, place them into an ice bath (ice cubes and water in a mixing bowl). Let them sit for about 8-10 minutes then carefully peel.

That's it folks...enjoy them either on their own or on some avocado toast, on top of a salad, in a bowl of soup, or however else your heart desires!
