Ingredients

  • 3 ripe, large avocados (or 4 small) you can speed up the ripening process by putting your avocados in a brown paper bag!
  • 1/2 lime juiced
  • 1/4 red onion, diced
  • 1 medium tomato, diced (or 2 small) I like to use the ones on the vine
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Kosher salt, to taste
  • Fresh cracked black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Cut the avocados (see notes section for tips), and squeeze the inside (not the skin) into a bowl. Add in lime juice and using a fork, mash up the avocados. If you like a chunkier guacamole only mash them slightly!

  2. Add in onions, tomatoes (I like to give the diced tomatoes a little squeeze in my hands to get rid of the excess liquid before adding them in) and garlic and combine until fairly evenly distributed.

  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste. start with about 1 teaspoon of salt and a little less than half a teaspoon of pepper and add a little at a time until you like the taste!

Recipe Notes

For cutting an avocado: Start by cutting the avocado lengthwise, cutting all around the pit. Twist the avocados to separate the halves. To remove the pit, I like to do this using a large sharp knife and carefully strike the knife into the pit. Twist the knife and the pit will come right out! Holding the knife, tap the knife against your counter or garbage can to separate the pit from the knife.
